I am:

How you can help

North East and Cumbria

"The best thing about volunteering for me is doing something for other people.  I'm making a personal choice to do it, no one has forced me and it makes me feel proud that I am part of something that might make a difference in a child's life.

"As a volunteer I run short assemblies and smaller group sessions in schools. Each class comes up with different issues, and the work does prompt some difficult discussions. I find it rewarding to empower children with something they will take with them throughout their childhood, perhaps one day it may help if they find themselves in trouble."

The NSPCC has over 2,000 groups of volunteers across the UK, who raise money within their local community and help raise awareness of the work we do to protect children.

You could volunteer in your local ChildLine base for the ChildLine helpline, providing advice and support to children who need us 24 hours a day. Or you could volunteer for the ChildLine Schools Service, a role that involves presenting safeguarding assemblies and interactive workshops to primary school aged children.
