How you can help
North London and East of England
"I became a volunteer 19 years ago when a friend asked me to organise a house to house collection for her. Thinking this was just a one off event I agreed, little knowing that I would become Chairman of eight District committees in Berkshire.
"I could have been a volunteer for any charity but by becoming more involved with the NSPCC, I became aware of the deprivation and abuse amongst children in our society. I have three healthy grown-up children who have had a happy family life and I want to help children who do not."
