Child's Voice Appeal

Happy children smiling at cameraThank you to everyone that supported the Child's Voice Appeal. You have helped us raise over £45 million to support children through ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline.

Launched in 2008, the Child's Voice Appeal's aim was to sustain and grow our helplines services, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline.

Why we launched the Appeal

Demand for our help is high, so we needed to develop and expand the helplines to keep in contact with children and adults who have concerns.

At the time that we launched the Child's Voice Appeal, we were only able to answer two thirds of calls to ChildLine and three quarters of calls to the NSPCC Helpline.

Thanks to your help, ChildLine now provides online counselling as well as the phone service. Giving children a choice of different ways they can contact us makes them feel comfortable and in control of the conversation. We are now there for children however and whenever they need us.

The NSPCC Helpline has also developed to include a text service for people who would rather not contact us by telephone.

There are still some local fundraising events taking place and all money from these events will go towards the NSPCC helplines.

Although the Child's Voice Appeal has come to an end, you can still donate to the NSPCC's helplines.
