What do you do?
I supervise counsellors who talk to children and young people on the phone and on-line and lead risk assessments. I regularly supervise counsellors on a group and individual basis outside the counselling room; interview counselling applicants; train new counsellors; facilitate workshops and specific trainings; case-manage regular callers; appraise counsellors; supervise sessional and contracted supervisors, oversee referral feedbacks; facilitate project visits to ChildLine and carry out media work.
It is a very fulfilling, dynamic and diverse job.
Why did you join the NSPCC?
I came to ChildLine from another charitable organisation, which became an NSPCC service in 2006.
