Director of Finance and Corporate Services

Salary circa £100,000 (more may be available for an exceptional candidate) London

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is the only charity in the UK focused solely on protecting children from abuse. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We work with and support children, young people and their families through community based projects operating across the UK. We also run a national child protection helpline and ChildLine. Our annual budget is around £150m funded mainly through public donations.

We now require an exceptional finance professional to provide strategic financial leadership and to take responsibility for the development and delivery of a range of support services including IT, property, procurement and legal services. Particular challenges include embedding strong financial, asset and contract management disciplines throughout the organisation and maximising our substantial investment in technology.

This is a key role which offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the work of the NSPCC and to the children we serve. We are seeking a senior financial manager whose experience may have been gained in either a commercial or a charitable organisation, or both, and who can demonstrate:

– A successful track record of working at Board level
– Strong financial management skills gained in a complex organisation
– Knowledge and ability to drive and deliver first class IT services
– Commitment to developing a strong financial culture and driving through efficiency
– Experience of working in a multi stakeholder environment
– Personal commitment to the NSPCC’s vision, purpose and values
