What do you do?
I supervise counsellors who talk to children and young people while talking to them and regularly on group and individual basis outside the counselling room; train new counsellors; interview counselling applicants, facilitate workshops, case-manage regular callers; appraise counsellors; supervise sessional and contracted supervisors.
It's very fulfilling, dynamic and diverse.
Why did you join the NSPCC?
I came to ChildLine from another charitable organisation, which became an NSPCC service in 2006.
What benefits are there?
Access to free training; security; working with a supportive team.
What do you find rewarding about your job?
Working for an organisation with such an honourable and humane cause.
What values do you feel are important for working with the NSPCC?
Being child-centred; protecting and safeguarding children; believing in NSPCC's vision, respectful and non-judgemental attitude towards everyone.
