The NSPCC honoured the outstanding support of seven of its celebrity supporters at an event at the House of Commons on Tuesday 15 May 2007.
Artist Tracey Emin and former World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty with wife Michaela, were inducted into the NSPCC's Hall of Fame alongside best selling author Torey Hayden and actor Nicholas Hoult, currently staring in teenage drama Skins.
Dame Judi Dench and presenter Noel Edmonds were also honoured with awards but were unable to attend the ceremony. Lord Hattersley received the award on Dame Judi’s behalf, describing the actress as having a genuine and unremitting commitment to the charity.
The celebrities were presented with their awards by Shadow Chancellor George Osborne. On receiving her award Tracey Emin said: ‘I wish I wasn't here, I wish none of us were here - I wish cruelty didn't happen. The reason I'm here is that I have a conscience and I want to help.’
