If anyone deserves a rest this year it’s Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry. Last year the nation tuned in to watch her take on the toughest professional challenge of her life, as she fought off 10,000 people to win a six figure job with Sir Alan Sugar.
However, not content to spend 2007 resting on her laurels, she pledged to run the London Marathon to help raise vital funds for the NSPCC.
Michelle said: “Having experienced some tough times myself in life, I feel compelled to do my up most to help others. I remember watching all the amazing people that ran the marathon last year and I made a promise to myself that I would take part this year.
It proved to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It was an incredibly tough mental and physical challenge, as I knew it would be. The atmosphere on the day helped to keep me going though and it was also incredibly motivating to know that all my efforts were helping to 'run up the pounds' for the NSPCC."
The London Marathon is the largest annual fundraising event in the world, and Michelle ran the distance in just over 4 hours.
Training and completing the 26 miles was challenging but Michelle crossed the finishing line smiling.
