Celebrated Children's Author Launches The 2007 NSPCC Castle Howard Fair

Popular children’s author and Children’s Laureate, Jacqueline Wilson OBE, took time out of her recent book-signing in York to help the NSPCC launch the 2007 Castle Howard Christmas Fair.

Jacqueline Wilson said: “I passionately believe in the fantastic work that the NSPCC do to help and protect vulnerable children in our society. From my research into issues faced by children and young people for my books, I truly understand the need for services that the NSPCC provide. I am therefore, proud to be supporting this year’s prestigious Castle Howard Christmas Fair which looks set to be a fantastic day, raising thousands of pounds for abused children.”

Wilson’s huge back catalogue of books often deals with difficult issues that children and young people face in modern-day life, such as divorce, homelessness and abuse so she is well-placed to support the NSPCC in its bid to end cruelty to children.

The NSPCC Castle Howard Christmas Fair took place on Friday 9 November 2007 with a fund raising target of £35,000 for the NSPCC, who run vital services for children across North Yorkshire.
