NSPCC ambassador Jonny Wilkinson visited the NSPCC therapeutic service in Newcastle in December 2006. Along with his family, Jonny joined the young children and lent a helping hand in a therapeutic art session.

The Newcastle Team in Brighton Grove offers a therapeutic service for children and young people who are ‘looked after’ and who have been abused, through the use of family therapy, direct and indirect play therapy and counselling.
Whilst at the project, Jonny found out how the NSPCC has helped parents and carers.
The team works with children and young people aged four to 18 and also provides consultation and support to their carers. The project seeks to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence on children and young people, and also to increase the services on offer to children with disabilities and to better reflect the diversity in the local community.
