Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen donates £3000 to the NSPCC lighting up Blackpool

Top interior designer, tv personality and NSPCC Hall of Fame member Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, was in Blackpool during the summer of 2007 to present a cheque to the NSPCC for £3,000. The donation came after Laurence designed this year’s Blackpool illuminations. The money will help towards creating a brighter future for some of the UK’s most vulnerable children.

Pictured here with the NSPCC’s Debra Warren, Laurence said:

“I’m totally seduced by Blackpool’s high-kicking glamour and historical reputation for giddy glitz.  I’m delighted to have been asked to provide designs for the illuminations and am more than aware of what an accolade it is.  For me, as a designer, this is, I suppose, the ultimate in seeing my name, or at least my design, up in lights”

Laurence was very keen to get involved and also ensure that at the same time his participation benefited the NSPCC – one of his favourite charities. He worked with a hand picked Illuminations Team to bring his designs to life. The illuminations are the lifeblood of the resort and each year Blackpool puts on a fabulous show.

Parents of two daughters, Laurence and his wife Jackie have supported the NSPCC since the launch of the FULL STOP campaign in 1999. They have been active and enthusiastic supporters from helping us to raise thousands of pounds to fronting our campaigns. The couple were inducted into the NSPCC Hall of Fame in 2005 as an official recognition of their outstanding contribution to our work.
