Popular Channel five chat show host, Trisha Goddard, was at Holy Trinity Church in London’s Sloane Street this October to open the Cards for Good Causes’charity Christmas card shop. Trisha is a keen supporter of the NSPCC and attended the opening on our behalf. She also actively campaigns for a better understanding of mental health issues and supports MIND and Home Start.
Trisha said: “I’m honoured to open Cards For Good Causes 2006 on behalf of the NSPCC. CFGC represents so many worthwhile charities. Let’s all get together to ensure that every card sent this year is a charity card. The NSPCC and all the charities get at least 81p in the £ from the card sales in CFGC stores.”

In the lead up to Christmas, more than 350 multi-charity Christmas card outlets will be open across the country, including 18 in London. The NSPCC raised £206,000 in 2005 via the Cards for Good Causes stores during the Christmas period.
Most shops are staffed by local volunteers and the efforts of this army of 7,500 plus helpers play a major part in enabling the charities to receive such a high return for their card sales.
Most shops are in churches, cathedrals, libraries, tourist information centres and community venues and offer a selection of card designs. Last year more than 300 additional charities were helped in this way.
