NSPCC Hall of fame 2005

NSPCC hall of fame star

Peter Andre
Singer-songwriter

Peter Andre Motivated by his own experiences of being bullied as a child and the book 'A Child Called It', Peter nominated the NSPCC as his benefiting charity for his participation in ITV's third series of 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here'. Peter finished third, donating his substantial winnings of £215,000 to the NSPCC.

Following 'I'm A Celebrity' Peter was subject of huge media interest and the NSPCC benefited from extensive media and PR coverage of its work.

As a result of this success his 1992 single 'Mysterious Girl' was re-released with part of the royalties being donated to the NSPCC.

On Children's Day 2004, Peter visited Tower Hamlets Young Peoples Centre to hand over his 'I'm A Celebrity' cheque and he was rapturously received by staff and service users. After the visit Peter went on a national tour and donated 200 tickets for his concerts for service users and staff.

Peter says:

"The NSPCC is a charity that I always want to support, it means so much to me to be in a position to be able to do something to help. I honestly can't believe that I'm being inducted into the Hall of Fame, it's a great honour."
