Changing public attitudes

The NSPCC can never hope to end cruelty to children by itself. We set out to involve everybody and often work in partnership because child abuse is an issue that must be tackled by society as a whole.

With the FULL STOP Campaign we've increased awareness of the scale and nature of cruelty to children, and created a sense of responsibility and willingness to take action.

Child protection is everyone's responsibility. A key aims of the FULL STOP Campaign is to help people see that they can  help end cruelty to children and young people .
To influence attitudes and behaviour towards children, we run mass public awareness and education campaigns, using TV advertising other media and a wide range of advice material.

be the FULL STOP logoFor example, Be the FULL STOP is a major drive in the FULL STOP Campaign to end cruelty to children.

We want millions of people to Be the FULL STOP by becoming part of a mass movement who believe cruelty can be ended and are willing to act to make child cruelty stop.

When it launched, Be the FULL STOP was backed by a four week national advertising campaign on TV , billboards , press and online.

Our campaigns make a big impact with the public and many important audiences such as decision makers and the media. Read more about how we influence decision makers, help change the law and about the work of our public policy team
