Services for children, young people and families

We run services for children, young people and their families throughout the UK, Guernsey and Jersey

NSPCC Helpline
The NSPCC Helpline is the only free and confidential way for the public to take action to protect a child. The service also now provides support in Welsh and five Asian languages.

ChildLine
ChildLine is the UK's free, 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn.

Treatment and Therapeutic Services
NSPCC Treatment and Therapeutic Services works with children who have been abused and neglected. The service provides the opportunity for the most vulnerable and isolated children to heal the psychological and emotional harm caused by abuse.

Domestic Violence Prevention
Children and Young People are often the forgotten victims of domestic violence. NSPCC teams work to help children and their families overcome the effects of domestic violence and help to restore healthy relationships.

Schools Teams
Too many children and young people are unable to achieve their potential in life because of emotional and psychological problems. The NSPCC’s Schools Teams provide listening and counselling services to children in schools.

Young Witness Support
Giving evidence in court is a stressful experience for any witness. For a child who has been abused it can be harrowing. Young Witness Support is a service that provides a process of preparation to young witnesses who are to give evidence in criminal proceedings.

Young People's Centres
Young People's Centres are a new way of providing child protection services in communities. The approach involves identifying local risks and needs, promoting child focused parenting and professional practice and enabling children to overcome the effects of cruelty.

Independent Enquiry and Assessment Service (IEAS)
The NSPCC has a network of teams who work in partnership with Police and Statutory Agencies. The IEAS undertakes enquiries of individuals who may pose a risk to children and young people and also identify children and young people who may be subject to abuse and to ensure that appropriate agencies take effective action to protect them.

Campaigning and Influencing
The NSPCC can never hope to end cruelty to children by itself. We set out to involve everybody and often work in partnership because child abuse is an issue that must be tackled by society as whole.
