What is the course about?
All organisations and people who work with children, or are involved in providing services for them, have a duty to safeguard
and promote their welfare.Recruiting the right people
is a crucial part of getting this right:“The harsh reality is that if a sufficiently devious person is determined to seek out opportunities to work their evil, no one can guarantee that they will be stopped. Our task is to make it as difficult as possible for them to succeed.”Sir Michael Bichard, in his report into the tragedy at Soham.
This course equips you with advanced interviewing skills to explore a candidate’s awareness, behaviour, attitude and motivation in relation to safeguarding children.
The technique and model applied during this course is based on the NSPCC value-based interviewing model, which has been thoroughly researched and evaluated over a number of years.
