Our Hubs in Northern Ireland
We have service centres in Belfast and Foyle where we work with children, families and professionals. We support parents and families in caring for their children and provide therapeutic assistance to help children move on from abuse.
You can find out more information about our services below.
Our direct services
InCtrl helps to build young people’s understanding of the risks and benefits of the internet. We work with children aged 9 to 13, using face to face group sessions to build online resilience and promote emotional wellbeing. We also encourage parents and carers to get involved, to help protect their children from online abuse.
Letting the Future In
Through Letting the Future In, we support children and young people, aged 4 to 17, to rebuild their lives after experiencing sexual abuse. Practitioners work with children in safe therapeutic spaces, doing things like messy play, writing, storytelling and art to help them express feelings as well as talking.
Pregnancy in Mind
Pregnancy in Mind is a preventative mental health service that helps support expectant parents who have or are at risk of mild to moderate anxiety or depression. It uses a range of approaches including mindfulness, active relaxation and peer support.
Young Witness Service
Going to court as a witness can be difficult at any age, but for children it can be a really scary experience.
In Northern Ireland, we run the Young Witness Service. This partnership provides support and assistance to children and young people under 18-years-old who have to attend court as witnesses in Northern Ireland. It's free, independent and confidential.
Our team assists children and young people under 18 years old who have to attend court as prosecution witnesses. It operates in every local crown, magistrates and youth court in Northern Ireland.
Last year in Northern Ireland the Young Witness Service helped 584 children and young people.
Testimonials from young witnesses:
“I couldn’t have been made to feel any more comfortable in this centre and staff have been amazing support throughout the trial. I hope that anyone using the service will feel at ease when leaving as we have”.
“I think without the support I would not have coped.”
"Absolutely amazing super friendly and very understanding, makes the experience less stressful."
