Our work in Wales

We’re working to prevent child abuse in Wales. You can help us be there to support every child that needs us.

Abuse can ruin childhoods and the effects can last a lifetime. But with your help, we're working to prevent child abuse in Wales – and help children and young people who’ve been abused rebuild their lives.

Our services in Wales

We're supporting families in Wales when they need us to help make sure children are given the best chance in life.

Our Wales national hub provides support to children, families and professionals. We support parents and families in caring for their children and provide therapeutic assistance to help children move on from abuse.

We also provide help and support through the NSPCC helpline, Childline and our work with schools.

Help and advice for children and young people about a wide range of issues, support online, on the phone, anytime. Childline has 2 bases in Wales and a Welsh language service.

How to contact Childline in Welsh

1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse, robbing them of their childhood. That's why we're visiting primary schools across Wales to give children the knowledge they need to stay safe from harm and to speak out if they're worried.

Volunteering

Join the fight for every childhood through our one of our volunteering opportunities in Wales.

Join our schools service team as a volunteer to help protect children from abuse and give them the confidence to seek help if they ever need it. We also need volunteers who can deliver these vital messages in Welsh-medium schools.

Find a volunteer role

Childline has been a place for children to turn for over 30 years. On average, 2 children a minute contact Childline. Help us be there for more children in one of our volunteer roles.

Campaigning

We give a voice to children when no one is listening. We stand up for children in Wales by finding the best ways to prevent abuse and neglect. We work with Welsh Government and the National Assembly for Wales to strengthen policy and legislation and urge them to take action to better protect children. Become a campaigner and help us demand that all children in Wales are worth fighting for.

Up to 1 in 5 mums in the UK experience mental health problems during pregnancy and after giving birth. Demand mental health support for every mum, so that every baby and every family gets a fair start.

From screaming in the supermarket to a meltdown at mealtime, children’s behaviour can be challenging. If you’re feeling at the end of your tether, Take 5. And follow our simple steps for positive parenting.

We’ve made it our mission to teach parents and children the PANTS rule. We have a range of PANTS guides for parents and carers including guides in Welsh.

Right from birth, every time you talk, sing or play with your baby, you’re not just bonding, you’re building their brain. Sign-up for brain-building tips.
