Hunt for Paddington’s head

NSPCC supporters have rallied to help find the head of damaged Paddington bear statue designed by one of our young supporters

One of the 50 Paddington bear statues dotted around London as part of The Paddington Trail, ‘Maya’s bear’, was vandalised over the weekend.

The bear was located outside our London office in Shoreditch and designed by one of our young supporters, so to have this happen is very upsetting. Maya, the bear’s designer, won the chance to design a Paddington statue for the trail by entering a ChildLine competition.

"As we are in party season someone might well have thought it was a bit of fun to remove Paddington’s head. However they should be aware that this figure and many others are being auctioned to raise money for our services which help children who have been abused."

"It was also designed by a young girl who was absolutely delighted when it was chosen to go on display and will undoubtedly be upset about what’s happened."

The support we've had to help locate paddington's head has been amazing. The twitter hashtag #FindIsHead has seen hundreds of tweets calling for information of its whereabouts.

To join the search follow #FindHisHead or, if you have any information, contact the police.
