The Paddington Trail nears its end

Today marks one week until the close of The Paddington Trail online auction, and last day to join the London trail

The intrepid traveller has been a fixture of some of London's best sights since the beginning of November – providing a friendly face in the busy crowds. But sadly he'll be off on his travels again, as today marks the close of The Paddington Trail.

If you've got some time to spare today definitely pay a visit to as many of the specially designed statues as you can. With just a week until The Paddington Trail online auction closes on January 7, organisers will begin preparing the Paddington statues for delivery to their new guardians.

The Bear of London Paddington, designed by Mayor of LondonThe online auction follows on from the incredibly successful one day Paddington Trail auction event held at Christies 3 weeks ago - where Paddington fans and NSPCC supporters raised more than £500,000 for our work. You can view photos from the night on our Pinterest board.

Our supporters have made sure that the online auction has got off to a great start too, with all the Paddington statues that have been listed receiving their fair share of bids.

The Telegraph's 'Good news bear' and 'The Bear of London', designed by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, top the list at the moment. 'Good news bear' is currently at £5,000 and the latest bid on 'The Bear of London' is £4,200. We're also pleased to see that bidding on 'Maya's bear' is going well, currently at £2,000, despite the awful act of vandalism a few days before Christmas.

The online auction is being hosted by Christies and the money raised will be used to support our ChildLine service. If you are unable to bid on a bear before the auction closes on January 7 but would still like to support our work you can donate online.
