Sexual abuse can ruin childhoods and have long-lasting effects for the rest of a child’s life.

Amber was only 9 when the sexual abuse started, and by 12 it was destroying her life. But with the help of donations like yours, Amber was able to recover through therapeutic support from the NSPCC.

Right now, thousands of children across the UK desperately need support to help them recover from the devastating effects of sexual abuse. Please, help a child like Amber by donating now.

When I was nine I was sexually abused by a close family member. But by the time I was 12, it was destroying me. I went into a spiral of depression and anxiety; having really bad nightmares and suicidal thoughts.

I was referred to the NSPCC’s therapy service. It’s made an amazing difference to me. It gave me this confidence I never had.

I don’t think I would be here at all now if it wasn’t for the NSPCC.

How your donations make an impact

Last year we helped 570 children recover from sexual abuse.

NSPCC’s therapy service for sexual abuse significantly reduces psychological and behavioral problems affecting children.

Around 90% of our funding comes from our supporters, helping us reach children across the UK.

There are lots of ways you can support our work if you aren't able to donate online.

We've agreed to stick to a strict set of codes and a fundraising promise, which means we treat our supporters and donors with respect, fairness and honesty and we are always clear about how we raise money

80p in every £1 we spend goes directly to helping children and young people. This includes working with children and families, our helplines, schools service and child protection and awareness campaigns like PANTS. Read our Annual Report (PDF).

This is a true story but names have been changed and photographs have been posed by models.

Your donation could go towards our therapeutic services, or it could help us fund services like our helpline and Childline. Wherever the need is greatest, that’s where your donation will go.
