Show your love for the NSPCC this Valentine's Day
Text LOVE to 70744 to donate £4 to the NSPCC today.
The NSPCC is calling on local people to show their love for the charity this Valentine's Day by donating £4 by text to support their work with vulnerable children.
Head of Fundraising for the region, Christian Morris, said, "In the past 12 months the news has been full of terrible stories of sexual abuse, both historic and present."
"At the NSPCC we know that the vast majority of people love children and treat them well and we thought this would be a really simple way for that majority to show their support for our work protecting children from abuse and neglect."
The charity's fundraising team and supporters are running a Facebook and Twitter campaign to promote the initiative and are asking for local people to help.
Christian continued, "All you need to do is text LOVE to 70744 and then post about it on Facebook or tweet on Twitter to help spread the word. If you aren't on either of these sites you can send an email to your friends and colleagues or even just tell as many people as possible."
Messages cost £4 plus one standard message charge, and you must have the bill payer's permission to use this service. The NSPCC expects to receive approximately £3.99 per message depending on your network.
