Beatie Wolfe raising money for ChildLine with her latest single

'Kids Wish for the World', new song by London singer-songwriter Beatie Wolfe, will help raise money for our ChildLine service

Beatie Wolf and Michael Acton SmithLondon singer-songwriter Beatie Wolfe has collaborated with Britain's top web entrepreneur, Michael Acton Smith OBE, to release a new single called 'Kids Wish for the World'. Money raised from the song's sales will go to our ChildLine service and War Child.

'Kids Wish for the World' is a re-recording of one of Beatie's original songs 'Wish'. This new version features ten children from across the UK singing their very own wish for the world following a competition on new children's social media platform PopJam. Released today, the single can be downloaded via iTunesAmazon and other online retailers.

PopJam was created by Michael Acton Smith, the man behind Moshi Monsters and Mind Candy. After hearing 'Wish', Michael asked Beatie Wolfe to launch the first official channel for a musician on his new social media platform.

Whilst testing out the PopJam app, Beatie was contacted by a boy who shared his "wishes". Movingly, these were not about his personal wants but what he wished for the world. One of them read: "I wish everyone had a home and enough food and water."

This confirmed an idea of Beatie's: to create a competition for kids to share their 'Wish for the World' and invite the finalists into the recording studio to sing on a new version of the single - with the proceeds going to charity.

In just 2 days, the competition received 20,000 responses. From those 20,000, Beatie chose ten children to record their wishes as part of the single and star in the music video.

Speaking about the project, Beatie said:
"The intention behind this project was to put out a very positive message about the changes our next generation wishes to see in the world. I was amazed by the insight and thoughtfulness regarding the current state of affairs from the many kids who entered the competition, and how they would do things differently.

"It was incredibly moving. I chose the ten finalists on the basis of their wishes as each wish was a really valued point and together they covered many of the most important areas I believe our world can benefit from."

With the support of the Utley Foundation, Beatie's wish is now a reality and the single has been released in aid of our ChildLine service and War Child. 'Kids Wish for the World' is a song co-created with children for children, with the powerful message of everyone working together happily towards a brighter and safer future.

'Kids Wish for the World' is now available to download from iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.
