NSPCC Wales and training provider Cyfle develop and deliver a brand new course to help media industry professionals safeguard children
The safety of children involved or working in the media and entertainment industry has been brought into sharp focus by sexual abuse cases involving Jimmy Savile, Max Clifford and Rolf Harris, to name a few. Our new course is a step forward in making sure that children are no longer vulnerable to such abuse.
The course - 'Working safely with children in the media' - is the very first course of its kind, incorporating NSPCC training on child protection, along with media industry regulations on working with children and young people. The one day course uses real life, media specific case scenarios to help people in the industry play their part in safeguarding children from abuse. The course has been delivered in Cardiff, Llanelli and Caernarfon, and has been attended by TV production companies from across Wales.
