Lockdown fundraising ideas

As the world is changing daily, so is the way people are fundraising and asking for sponsorship. With changes in how we socialise, connect and work, beloved ideas like bake sales and fundraising in the office are having to be put on hold. But we're here to help you think of fundraising in a different and safe way during this time.

Did you know... Donations made via Just Giving and Virgin Money Giving are paid to the NSPCC once a week. This means we can put every donation to use immediately – so we can continue to still be there for children.

Virtual fundraising ideas

  • Teach an online class, like yoga, home workouts or guitar lessons, or offer home schooling - it's a great way to help people learn new things!

  • Get crafty and make homemade gifts, soap or cards at home. Send to your friends and family in the post and ask for a donation.

  • Host a virtual coffee morning with friends and family – grab a cuppa, a slice of cake and some games.

  • Host a virtual pub quiz over video chat or on social media - invite your friends and family and find out who’s the most competitive player!

  • Now's the perfect time to declutter and sell any old clothes, gifts or books online – try eBay for charity, Facebook Marketplace or Depop.

  • Challenge your friends to a virtual bake-off competition. Ask people to donate to enter, then share your baked goods over video chat or social media!

  • Challenge yourself to give something up and ask friends and family to sponsor you - it could be a habit, or even a favourite food.

  • Invite your friends to a gaming marathon and place bets on the winner – it’s a great way to keep in touch and have fun at the same time.
