In 2014, Bill Doody took on the challenge to run from Bristol to London in time to complete the Virgin Money London Marathon – and all with a broken toe.
Bill took on seven marathons and raised an amazing £7,000 in aid of our work and the Masonic Samaritan Fund (MSF).
Father-of-six, Bill is dedicated to supporting our work after receiving support during a difficult period in his childhood.
"I came from a difficult family where my parents drank a lot – my reaction to that was negative and I was put into care when I was aged 12 to 16. Organisations like the NSPCC really helped me to work through that experience. Now that I've progressed in my life, it felt only fair to give something back to those who have helped me along the way."
