Rob Young, Marathon Man UK

After watching the 2014 London Marathon, and feeling inspired by the fundraising stories he heard, Rob Young– nick-named ‘Marathon Man UK’- set out to complete his very first marathon.

365 days later, he completed his 370th marathon. 

In summer 2015, Rob broke the record for the longest ever run without sleep - over 373 miles.

"Pushing myself on a daily basis and raising money for charity is a dream come true for me. I had a difficult childhood and don't want other children to have a similar experience to me. Along the way I'm meeting the most incredible people and I'm so proud to say that I've inspired people to start running and much more."

Making a difference

So far, Rob has raised a staggering £62,400 for his chosen charities and he doesn’t intend on stopping there.

How can you get started?

Here are some top tips to help you start training

  • Get in racing shape - Use an official training plan
  • Dress the part - wear cool clothing and trainers that fit your feet perfectly
  • Give your bones extra TLC
  • Don't just run - do other exercise to improve your overall fitness and give your bones a rest
