Terms and conditions

Conditions of entry

By entering the Rutland Bike Ride, you confirm you are 18 years or older, and you have read, understood and agree to the following terms and conditions which is the basis of your relationship with NSPCC Trading Company Ltd ("us", "we").

Medical conditions

We strongly advise participants to consult their doctor before undertaking any form of exercise. You are responsible for ensuring that you, your team members and any children taking part in the bike ride are physically fit enough and able to participate.

Your participation in the Rutland Bike Ride is at your own risk and neither NSPCC nor NSPCC Trading Company Ltd shall be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage howsoever caused to you, any child participant or to any personal property in connection with the Rutland Bike Ride other than for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. St John Ambulance will be on duty for us that day.

Entry fee

The Registration fee is £10 per adult, £5 per child (under 18 years), £25 per family (maximum 4 people (2 adults, 2 children)).

The Registration fee is non-refundable (unless we cancel the event as set out below) and non-transferable.

Children

The event is not suitable for children under 8 years of age as participants (unless sitting in a child's bicycle seat on their parent or carer's bicycle). All children attending or participating in The Rutland Bike Ride must be accompanied by their parent or carer at all times.

If you are entering any child/children as participants in The Rutland Bike Ride, you hereby confirm that you are the parent or carer of that child/children.

Event cancellation

The Rutland Bike ride will only be cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. In such an eventuality all participants will be notified by email as soon as possible. If in the unlikely event we have to cancel the Rutland Bike Ride, then we will refund your Registration fee to you.

Race numbers

For safety reasons and for the identification by medical staff race numbers cannot be transferred, resold or swapped.

You are responsible for ensuring your emergency contact details and those of any children accompanying you are written on the inside of your/their race number.

Bicycle

Please provide your own bicycle. If you don't have your own bike, you can hire one from the on site Rutland Cycling shop - available at a discounted rate. However, bikes must be pre-ordered in advance of the event. Please call Rutland Cycling direct on 01780 460 705 and quote the NSPCC Sponsored Bike Ride.

Clothing

Please make sure you are wearing suitable clothing and footwear to undertake The Rutland Bike Ride. If a participant is not wearing clothing or footwear which we deem suitable on safety grounds, then they may be refused access to the Rutland Bike Ride.

Personal property

Please do not bring anything valuable to The Rutland Bike Ride. All valuable items should be kept with the riders or put in a secure place such as a locked car. The NSPCC cannot take any responsibility for any personal items.

Refused Entry

The organisers reserve the right to refuse someone access or entry to The Rutland Bike Ride. Examples of reasons include but are not restricted to; misuse of alcohol or other substances, sight of an injury which would make it unsafe for the participant to compete.

Use of photos or film

By entering the event you give permission for the free use of your name, voice or picture in any photo images or video footage broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event by us or the NSPCC in any future fundraising or publicity materials including national and regional press and on any of our website(s) as well as on the NSPCC's Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts. In addition, you agree to NSPCC storing copies of such photo images or video footage and your contact details in case we need to contact you.

Parental Consent for use of photos or film – Parents/guardians with parental responsibility who are entering their child/children in the event hereby give permission in relation to any photo images or video footage taken on the day of their child/children named in the registration form, for the free use of their name, voice or picture in any photo images or video footage broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event by us or the NSPCC in any future fundraising or publicity materials including national and regional press and on any of our website(s) as well as on the NSPCC's Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts. In addition, you agree to NSPCC storing copies of such photo images or video footage and your child/children's contact details in case we need to contact you.

Food and drink

All riders will be given a goody bag with water and an energy bar. There will be a number of water stations available around the circuit. A complimentary hog roast will also be provided at the finish line. For safety reasons, no alcohol will be served, provided or permitted at The Rutland Bike Ride.

Data Protection

We would like to contact you from time to time with updates about the work of the NSPCC, how your support has helped children and how you can be involved in the future. By entering the Rutland Bike Ride, you confirm you are happy for the NSPCC or us to contact you by post or telephone. If you are an existing supporter NSPCC/we will continue to communicate with you as NSPCC/we currently do.

This event is organised by the Peterborough Business Support Group, a committee of local business people dedicated to raising money to help fund the work the NSPCC does with vulnerable children in the Greater Peterborough area.
