Dream Auction 2006 raises a Dreamy £5million for NSPCC

David SeamHeld on 9 May 2006, the Dream Auction FULL STOP was one of the year’s most spectacular social events. International guests gathered at the Royal Albert Hall in London to bid for amazing dream ‘money can’t buy’ lots for auction. Following the event, an unprecedented 21 day online auction powered by ebay, helped raise approximately £5 million for the NSPCC.

Some of the biggest stars arriving at the Royal Albert Hall included Sir Michael Caine, Jerry Hall and Uma Thurman. Later inside, Heather Small and Earth, Wind and Fire performed their hits.

The online auction itself had more than 1,000 exclusive lots donated by generous celebrities including ex England Goalkeeper David Seaman’s goalkeeping gloves!.

Another amazing donated prize was a pair of tickets to David and Victoria Beckham’s pre-World Cup party, Full Length and Fabulous. This raised over £100,000.

The money raised will help fund the NSPCC’s groundbreaking service, There4me.com , an interactive website designed to help young people suffering from sexual, emotional and physical abuse.
