How we'll help you
Our training will provide you with all the tools needed to help you play your part.
You'll develop the skills needed to communicate with children – both for delivering presentations and answering their questions, and learn about our safeguarding procedures.
After a successful interview, you'll have access to participate in our industry leading online safeguarding programme.
The main part of your training is a two day workshop.
Throughout the training you will learn about bullying, children's rights and the different types of abuse.
Your Area coordinator will be able to tell you more about this.
Observe and learn
You'll then have a chance to see the Schools Service in action, observing experienced staff and School Service volunteers deliver the assembly and interactive workshop.
We won’t throw you in at the deep end. You'll start off by presenting parts of the programme with an experienced volunteer. This will help build your confidence and knowledge of the material. Before you know it you’ll be taking the lead!
Throughout the whole process, we give you feedback, coaching and advice on specific areas for development in your role.
