Stars help raise over £26k at Carols by Candlelight Supporting our Call for Help appeal

Camilla Rutherford, Dame Esther Rantzen and Daisy Bevan

Last night, supporters and famous faces came together to mark the start of the festive season at Carols by Candlelight. Through their support, we raised over £26k for our Call for Help appeal.

The sold out event, sponsored by First Utility and supported by Wyevale Garden Centres, featured readings from celebrities including Dame Diana Rigg, British actress Camilla Rutherford, Daisy Bevan, Amanda Donohoe and Hollywood actor Freddie Fox.

Entertainment was provided by BBC Young Musician of the Year, Martin James Bartlett and classical singer, Camilla Kerslake. The evening also featured an exclusive Q&A with Dame Diana Rigg hosted by Sasha Slater, deputy editor of Harper's Bazaar, and guests were able to bid on a range of luxury Christmas gifts in an online auction supported by Harrods.

"For most children, Christmas is magical. For others, it’s a time when they feel more alone than ever – when they’re struggling to cope with being neglected, bullied or abused. Thanks to our supporters, our wonderful ChildLine counsellors will be there for children and young people in times of need, even on Christmas Day."
