White Hat Ball celebrates 10 years and £1 million raised

London's Lancaster Hotel played host to our 10th annual White Hat Ball as we celebrated £1 million raised for our ChildLine service

Over 680 guests attended the annual White Hat Ball on 30 January at London's Lancaster Hotel, in aid of our ChildLine service. Now a major event in the information risk and security industry, this year marked the Ball's 10 year anniversary.

Sponsored by KPMG, the evening raised over £143,000, bringing the White Hat Ball's fundraising total to over £1million over the last 10 years – an amazing achievement.

To mark 10 years of the Ball, the committee chose a gold theme for the evening - adding some extra sparkle to the proceedings. The event was hosted by The Bill's Graham Cole and guests included ChildLine founder Dame Esther Rantzen, Nicholas Parsons, and Neil and Christine Hamilton who all ensured that the event was a runaway success.

Chairman of this year's White Hat Ball committee, Marcus Alldrick said:
"A fantastic evening that raised an amazing amount for a wonderful cause. My grateful thanks to all of those involved in making it happen, our sponsors and those who attended, donated and gave so generously.

"I'm so proud to be part of the information risk and security industry which has made such a difference to so many over the past 10 years; what a difference a decade makes and long may White Hat and ChildLine continue."

The evening included both live and silent auctions and featured entertainment from City Academy's choir Songbirds and live music from Session One.

Dame Esther Rantzen said:
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to Marcus and the White Hat Ball committee for their support over the last 10 years. The money they've raised is enough to help our trained counsellors answer over 250,000 calls from children, giving them someone to turn to in times of need. Thanks must also go to the information security and risk industry who have supported this event so generously over the years."
