FAQs

When you sign up to cycle RideLondon-Essex with #TeamNSPCC, you need to pay a £20 registration fee.

We then ask that you raise £475. This fundraising target will cover the cost of your event place and support the NSPCC in our mission to keep every child safe across the UK and Channel Islands.

The route for RideLondon-Essex 100 is entirely road-based. With this in mind, please make sure your bike is suitable for this terrain.

Whilst using a mountain bike is possible, they are heavier. This would make completing the RideLondon-Essex event more challenging!

We recommend using a lightweight road bike, or a hybrid bike. We would also advise you to have your bike serviced before the ride. This will make sure your bike is in good condition and is safe for you to ride during the event.

To maximise your enjoyment during the event, you do need to train and get out on your bike before the ride!

The Ford RideLondon-Essex 100 rides take place on Sunday 26 May on traffic-free routes.

The event will start on Victoria Embankment and finish on Tower Bridge in Central London. Whilst the course starts and ends in Central London, the course includes varying loops. The 100-mile course takes cyclists into north-east London and Essex.

All riders in the Ford RideLondon-Essex 100-mile event have 8 and a half hours to complete their ride. This timeframe begins from the departure of the last start wave. We expect the final participants to finish at 18:00.

Participants will be notified of individual start arrival times by email. You should expect this email three weeks before event day.

An event guide will be sent to all riders in early May. This will include all the key information about your RideLondon-Essex event. The guide will cover information you need to know before, during, and after your event.

The route will be clearly marked along the whole course. There will be road closures, and the route is clearly marked in these area too.

The route is clearly waymarked by directional event arrows on closed roads. Please always follow the event arrows as they are shown on all turns, and along straight roads for reassurance.

Whilst the course is well marked, we strongly recommend you also download the route onto your GPS device. You can do this via the download link in your participant area, ready to download to your preferred GPS device.

If you become lost during the event, please call the contact phone number on the front of your bike number.

There are several stops along the RideLondon-Essex 100 route with food and drinks. There will be water and a selection of energy products for participants at the four Rider Welfare Stops along the route

At the moment, we only offer charity places in the RideLondon-Essex 100 event. This is the 100 mile course.

If you already have a place in the 30 or 60-mile events, you can still join #TeamNSPCC as an own-place participant. You'll enjoy all the benefits of being charity place cyclist, with no set fundraising target. We just ask you to raise what you can!
