Young girl lying in bed with her doll

Right now, thousands of children across the UK are being abused, having their childhoods destroyed.

For children suffering alone, the NSPCC can be their only hope.

Every year we help keep over a million children safer. We are here to listen, reassure, and take action to protect children. Supporting children and families to stop abuse from happening and help them recover if it does.

But we need your help to be here for every child.

Amber's story

"When I was 9, I was sexually abused by a close family member. By the time I was 12, it was destroying me. I spoke to Childline and they helped me build up the courage to confide in a teacher.

After suffering anxiety and depression, I was referred to NPSCC's Letting the Future In service, which helps children recover after sexual abuse, and had weekly therapy sessions.

It's made an amazing difference to me. I don't think I would be here at all now if it wasn't for the NSPCC."

How your donations make an impact

Every 25 seconds a child contacts Childline for help.

Last year, 47% of contacts answered by the NSPCC helpline resulted in a referral.

Around 90% of our funding comes from our supporters, helping us reach children across the UK.

There are lots of ways you can support our work if you aren't able to donate online.

We've agreed to stick to a strict set of codes and a fundraising promise, which means we treat our supporters and donors with respect, fairness and honesty and we are always clear about how we raise money

80p in every £1 we spend goes directly to helping children and young people. This includes working with children and families, our helplines, schools service and child protection and awareness campaigns like PANTS. Read our Annual Report (PDF).

Your donation could go towards our therapeutic services, or it could help us fund services like our helpline and Childline. Wherever the need is greatest, that’s where your donation will go.
