In the average primary school class, at least 2 children have suffered abuse or neglect.

Child abuse can take many forms and the effects can be devastating. That's why our specially trained Speak Out Stay Safe staff and volunteers are visiting primary schools across the country to give children the knowledge they need to stay safe from harm and to speak out if they're worried.

We're protecting a generation of children against abuse, one primary school at a time. But we can only reach every child with your support. Please donate today.

"If it hadn't been for that assembly, I honestly think the abuse would still be happening."

"We are a really normal family. Luke* is normally a lively and energetic little boy. But over a period of months, I noticed a change in his behaviour. On the day of the [Speak Out Stay Safe] assembly, Luke came home and he was very quiet. He was lying down by the window next to me while I was working. He seemed so withdrawn and exhausted. It was as though he had the world on his shoulders."

"I can’t recall exactly how he said it – it’s all such a blur. I remember him saying to me,

'I've had child abuse. That's what it is and it's wrong.'"

"I was so shocked. I wanted to cry but I couldn't because I needed to be strong for Luke. If it hadn't been for that assembly, I honestly think the abuse would still be happening. It gave my son the words to articulate what had happened to him and to be able to say it was not ok. It's so crucial that we find the resource to support this vital service."
